There are many ways to save energy and dollars utilizating solar in the rapidly growing and changing regulatory environment of California.  Gone are the lucrative rebates of yesteryear.  Gone are the juicy feed-in tariffs, unless yours is grandfather in for a while (if so, pat yourself on the back). Say hello to the federal tax credit of about 30%, and roll out the red carpet for the zoo of battery products and approaches available.  But don't stop there, we are still believers in good ol' solar thermal, which might pencil out better for you especially if you have an all electric home.  You might want to mix and match, since we all like hot showers from time to time.  Thermal has been using storage tanks long before photovoltaic even thought of adding batteries to the mix.  Sunlight equals power and heat, and how you plan to harvest it depends on how you plan to use it.  Let's talk and brainstorm and come up with a plan to save you money over the years.  Then rechannel that savings to something more exciting than a utility bill.  Mayb take your kids (or your parents) out do dinner more often.
